Time to point out the inherent flaws in this argument.
- The DS remakes of III and IV were 3D, yes, but would you really want your VII remake to look like that?
- The PSP remakes of I, II, and IV only used simple (and ugly) sprites and were 2D. Yes, let’s make a VII remake that looks just like that.
- An HD 3D remake would require years upon years of formatting not only characters but also scenery and movement. Mastery can’t just be magicked up overnight.
- The original developers would ALL have to be on board for a VII remake. Many of them, including Yoshinori Kitase, are of the opinion that VII has had more than enough time in the spotlight and that it should be ignored for newer, possibly better projects.
- There are numerous gaping plot holes in VII. So how would those plot holes be filled? By tweaking things or adding new info? Not many people are going to like that.
- To paraphrase Neil Gaiman, Square Enix is not your bitch. They are allowed to work on whatever projects they would like, and they are allowed to take as much time as they’d like to do it. You’re still going to buy the game and presumably bitch over it, anyway.
